Is this the beginning of the end of the liberal British media's love affair with Europe, or more specificially the EU? Today's Guardian has two major comment articles hostile to the EU, one Peter Preston arguing that Europe has to put its own house in order before criticizing the EU, and a very anti-euro piece by economics editor Larry Elliot who makes the good point that the three most pro-Euro Tories, Ken Clarke, Chris Patten and Micheal Heseltine are the same three who as advocates of the ERM-first policy in the early 1990s destroyed the Tory Party. Question now must be will the Guardian support a 'yes' vote in any referendum. The answer is surely no.
