Actually the Cuthbertson post below is a joy to read and I recommend it to all my readers. However a prize to the first who can tell me what he means by this wonderful sentence,"There are people who are enjoying life today who would have been murdered if not for Michael Howard".
Did Howard leap in front of a bullet? Or wrestle someone with a knife to the ground? Or track down a serial killer?
Incidentally I think too much is made about Michael Howard's record as Home Secretary on crime.
Recorded violent crime when Howard took over: 284,000
Recorded violent crime when Howard left: 347,000
