How stupid does he think the British people are?

Michael Howard's rather dull speech (which received a standing ovation of 2 minutes -- is this a conference low?) was remarkable for display of contempt in which he clearly holds the British people.

It was my first experience of a politician's answer.

I don't believe in that kind of talk.

I'm going to give it to you straight.


Give it to you straight? Like perhaps he did in the House of Commons or the Newsnight studio back in 1995?

How stupid does he think we are? The sooner he goes back to being cited in divorce cases for stealing wooing other people's wives the better.
