The Iraq election took a turn for the weird yesterday when campaign staff for the interim PM, Allawi, handed journalists $100 in an envelope, the equivalent of two week's pay.The bribes were laughed off as tradtional 'hospitality':
"We have no excuse in your culture but I'm from a tribal background, and in ours, it is just hospitality," said Adnan Janabi, campaign manager for the Iraq List coalition which Mr Allawi leads.
