Royalty and riots

I haven't read Sarah Bradford's Diana, as I'm still struggling through Patrick Jephson's Shadows of a Princess (I think the Amazon review is rather unfair, btw, although it is striking how few times Jephson mentions CPB). But from the Sunday Telegraph's review this was rather striking:
