Olympics
I was trying to be more optimistic about the Olympics, and I expect some of these figures are wrong - as far as I know more of the money is being used for regeneration than he allows, plus things that 'obviously' save money in practice often don't - but it's hard not to agree with Simon Jenkin's overall argument. It's a bit of a shame, because I remember one reason for getting the games was that when we last hosted it we were broke. But there's really no reason for building stadiums when we have them for things that won't last past the games.Labels: Olympics
