The End of an Era
I imagine some of my readers are already sleeping outside a Camden newsagents to make sure they are first in line, but for those not so up to speed with modern music trends prepare yourselves for a momentous announcement:
Stars is considered by many to be Simply Red's finest album and next week The Mail on Sunday is giving it away absolutely free.

Obviously in one sense I am upset - no-one will enter my competitions any more.
[A big shout out to J.D for alerting me to this event of historical significance]

A text message arrives from a friend somewhere (presumably) on the Continent:
"On holiday. Comment from next table: "He's a very accomplished man, Sting is".

There is another Hucknall in the World
Yes, Mick's become a
father for the first time, which if his claims are to
believed (that interview, by the way, is second only to
Michael J Totten's "Drinking with Christopher Hitchens and the Iraqis" [Update: Link, correct title, and I'd never noticed what a rip-roaringly funny title it is as well. The gift that keeps on giving.] as the most embarassing thing ever committed to print), is a remarkable demonstration of the efficacy of contraception.
Now Mick has become a father, I think it is time to end the custom of his Stars album being the prize for competitions held by this site. In future the prize will be the copy of James Delingpole's, "How to be Right", which I have given to a friend as a present.
