Matthew Elliott, chief executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “Taxpayers will be sickened that ordinary families are struggling to pay their taxes so money can be spent on monsters like Maxine Carr.“It is time we got our priorities right – punishing the innocent with high taxes while subsidising criminals is very twisted logic.”
